About the event
Duntroon Highlands Golf Club in partnership with the Taylored Pickleball Academy is hosting a one-day Pickleball Clinic. The sessions offered on this day will focus on certain topics and strategies geared towards the beginner, advanced beginner and intermediate & skill levels. As always, the TPA team will keep you having fun while elevating your skills on the court!

Duntroon: Learn 2 Play
June 1st / 9:00 - 10:30 am / Skill: Beginners Join our qualified and certified TPA instructors in our 1.5 hour introduction to pickleball which is a great way to learn the basics of this amazing game in a fun, friendly environment. We’ll cover off all the basic fundamentals such as grip, proper stroke techniques, court positioning, simple rules and the serve and return. You’ll end with mini-game play to put all you’ve learned into action. All equipment is provided.

June 1st: 10:45am-12:15pm / Skill: Advanced Beginner The non-volley zone (NVZ), commonly referred to as the kitchen, is a critical area on the pickleball court that requires finesse, strategy, and quick reflexes. Learning to play the NVZ line effectively can significantly enhance your game and take you to the next level. This session will focus on building your confidence, control, and consistency with the play at or near the NVZ through drill based learning and mini game play action.

June 1st: 12:30pm - 2pm / Skill: Intermediate The 3rd shot -drive or drop - is one of the most important shots to master in pickleball. This clinic will focus on improving the quality and consistency of your 3rd shots as well as understanding the strategy around how and why it’s so important. You’ll be put through a series of drills & drill-based games meant to help you improve your performance when attempting this difficult but strategically important shot. Final 20 minutes will be game play

June 1st: 2:15pm - 3:45pm / Skill: Intermediate While power shots often get the fan fare, soft shots play a vital role in pickleball. In this 1.5 hour clinic we’ll teach you how to properly execute the dink shot, a delicate and precise shot. You’ll learn about the placement of the soft shot and the strategies to keep your opponents off balance and in defense mode. Plus proper court positioning, footwork and movement which will have you playing pickleball and not just reacting to the next shot.
