About the event
The St. Andrews Pickleball Club in partnership with the Taylored Pickleball Academy is hosting 2 days of Pickleball Clinics on Wed May 1 and Thurs May 2, 2024. The sessions offered will focus on certain topics and strategies geared toward advanced beginner & intermediate plus skill level players. As always, the TPA team will keep you having fun while elevating your skills on the court!

STA: Court Movement & Defense
May 1: 3:45pm-5:15pm / Skill; Intermediate In this 1.5 hour clinic lesson you will learn how to confidently move on the court as you defend, attack and gain control of the game. Our TPA instructors will focus on three major movements -protecting the middle, transitioning to the NVZ and defending the lob & overhead - that every pickleball player must master in order to elevate their game. Throughout drills and drill based games we’ll discuss weight transfer, footwork and court positioning.

May 1: 5:30pm - 7pm / Skill; Intermediate PLUS Hitting the ball where you want, when you want and how you want is crucial to taking that next step to becoming a more advanced player. Whether it's avoiding a dominate forehand, targeting a weaker player or hitting the ball to an open space on the court. Recognizing the opportunity is one thing, executing is another. In this 1.5 hour clinic we’ll work on the skills and strategies to get you starting to execute a game that is played with purpose.

May 2: 3:45pm - 5:15pm / Skill: Intermediate The 3rd shot -drive or drop - is one of the most important shots to master in pickleball. This clinic will focus on improving the quality and consistency of your 3rd shots as well as understanding the strategy around how and why it’s so important. You’ll be put through a series of drills & drill-based games meant to help you improve your performance when attempting this difficult but strategically important shot.

May 2: 5:30pm-7pm / Skill: Advanced Beginner The non-volley zone (NVZ), is a critical area on the pickleball court that requires finesse, strategy, and quick reflexes. For advanced beginners, learning to play the NVZ line effectively can significantly enhance your game and take you to the next level. This 1.5-hour session will be focused on building your confidence, control, and consistency with the play at or near the NVZ through drill based learning and mini game play action.
