Geoff Staples
Lead Teaching Professional
Geoff Staples brings decades of competitive sport, coaching and leadership experience to Taylored Pickleball Academy. A former Canadian Armed Forces athlete with national-level experience across multiple sports, Geoff understands the commitment, discipline and mindset it takes to perform at a high level—and how to translate those lessons into great coaching.
As an NCCP Level 2 instructor, Geoff brings a structured and purposeful approach to the court. He is particularly passionate about helping players understand the why behind the game, because he believes lasting improvement happens when players understand what they're doing, why it works and how to apply it when the pressure is on.
Geoff has a talent for creating those memorable “light bulb” moments—when a player suddenly sees the game differently and something that once felt difficult begins to make sense. His coaching combines technical instruction, strategy and plenty of encouragement, challenging players while making the learning process enjoyable.
His years in competitive sport have also taught him that development isn't just about physical skill. Confidence, decision-making, consistency and the ability to adapt are all part of becoming a better player—and Geoff brings that complete approach to every session.
Whether he's working with players developing their fundamentals or helping more experienced athletes sharpen their game, Geoff is committed to helping people discover what they're capable of.
For Geoff, the best coaching is when the player has the “aha” moment—and then can't wait to get back on the court to try it.
