Taylored Pickleball Academy in partnership with Pickleball Newfoundland and Labrador is hosting 2 great days of Pickleball Clinics at the Civic Centre Studio in Corner Brook, NL! The sessions offered will focus on specific pickleball topics and strategies geared towards beginner to advanced skill levelled players.

CBrook: Learn 2 Play
June 1: 9am-10:30am Skill: Beginner/Some Experience Our introduction to pickleball is a great way to learn the basics of this amazing game in a fun, friendly environment. Whether you’re just beginning or have played a few times, this session will ensure you are knowledgeable on all the basic fundamentals such as grip, proper stroke techniques, court positioning, simple rules and the serve and return. You’ll end with mini-game play to put all you’ve learned into action. All equipment provided.

June 1: 10:45-12:15 / Skill: Advanced Beginner The non-volley zone, commonly referred to as the kitchen, is a critical area on the pickleball court that requires finesse, strategy, and quick reflexes. Learning to play the NVZ line effectively can significantly enhance your game and take you to the next level. This focus on building your confidence, control, and consistency with the play at or near the NVZ through drill based learning and mini game play action.

June 1: 12:30 - 2pm / Skill: Intermediate Do you struggle with playing against players known as ‘Bangers’? This 1.5-hour clinic lesson is designed specifically for you. We will focus on certain skills such as volleys, controlling the pace of the ball and returning the serve along with other smart strategies and techniques to help you learn how to take back control of the court. You’ll learn how to out smart and out maneuver your opponents, regardless of their power game.

June 1: 2:15pm - 4:15pm / Skill: Int+/Advanced Want to put your 4.0 skill set to the test? This advanced session is designed for individuals who are well-versed in the sport and seeking to reach the pinnacle of their abilities. TPA’s expert instructors allow you to refine your skills and develop a deeper understanding of Pickleball strategy. We’ll be focused on advanced drills and game play situations with particular emphasis on purpose, technique, positioning, strategy and placement.

June 2: 9am-10:30am Skill: Adv. Beginner/Early Intermediate This session is designed for advanced beginner/early intermediate players who are looking for an additional opportunity to work on their skills and confidence as they progress in their game play. With specific goals and targets that will challenge you to start “playing” instead of “reacting”, you’ll start to develop the skills and strategies ready to take you to the next level.

June 2: 10:45am - 12:15pm Skill: Intermediate The 3rd shot -drive or drop - is one of the most important shots to master in pickleball. This clinic will focus on improving the quality and consistency of your 3rd shots as well as understanding the strategy around how and why it’s so important. You’ll be put through a series of drills & drill-based games meant to help you improve your performance when attempting this difficult but strategically important shot.
