About the event
Taylored Pickleball Academy in partnership with Pickleball Newfoundland and Labrador is hosting 4 great days of Pickleball Clinics in Paradise, NL on May 27 - May 30th! The sessions offered will focus on specific pickleball topics and strategies geared towards beginner to advanced skill levelled players. All Registrants must be members of Pickleball Newfoundland and Labrador.

May 27: 8:30-10am / Skill: Advanced Beginner The non-volley zone, commonly referred to as the kitchen, is a critical area on the pickleball court that requires finesse, strategy, and quick reflexes. Learning to play the NVZ line effectively can significantly enhance your game and take you to the next level. This focus on building your confidence, control, and consistency with the play at or near the NVZ through drill based learning and mini game play action.

Beginner/Early Intermediate This session is designed for advanced beginner/early intermediate players who are looking for an additional opportunity to work on their skills and confidence as they progress in their game play. With specific goals and targets that will challenge you to start “playing” instead of “reacting”, you’ll start to develop the skills and strategies ready to take you to the next level.

May 27: 12pm-1:30pm Skill: Intermediate Do you struggle with playing against players known as ‘Bangers’? This 1.5-hour clinic lesson is designed specifically for you. We will focus on certain skills such as volleys, controlling the pace of the ball and returning the serve along with other smart strategies and techniques to help you learn how to take back control of the court. You’ll learn how to out smart and out maneuver your opponents, regardless of their power game.

May 27: 1:30-3pm Skill: Intermediate This fun, learning-based clinic focuses on one topic, soft shots. Understand when and how best to utilize this shot when located in different areas on the court. Drills and drill-based games will help reinforce the concepts/skills that have been introduced to the participants with the last remaining 30 mins being mentored gameplay.

When you leave our TPA Bootcamp you’ll have a new way of looking at your training to keep pushing your game upwards.

This clinic will focus on improving the quality and consistency of your 3rd shots as well as understanding the strategy around how and why it’s so important. May 30: 12pm-1:30pm Skill: Intermediate This clinic is ideal for intermediate players who want to become great doubles partners on the court! We recommend you register with a partner but it’s not required. By focusing on drills that require each partner to perform their role, you’ll learn the importance of patience, positioning, and synchronization with your partner. Effective communication & understanding your role with each position on the court will also be covered ending with games.
